Tonaquint Park is an oasis of nature in the heart of St. George. The ripple of the Santa Clara river, the rustle of cattails and the screech of a red-tail hawk are experiences to discover at St. George's best kept secret. Located at 1851 South Dixie Drive, just west of Southgate Golf Course, Tonaquint Nature Center offers outdoor educational programs for all ages.
Educational Programs

Local professionals and experts in various nature-related fields host fascinating programs for the Family Nature Night and Wild Wednesday lecture series. Family Nature Nights are a fun, relaxing and educational evenings designed for families. The Family Nature Nights are held the first and third Mondays of the month at 7:00 PM. Admission is free and there are refreshments served after each presentation.

The Wild Wednesday program is geared towards adults, however children are invited but must be supervised by an adult. The Wild Wednesdays are held the third Wednesday of each month at 12:00 NOON, except for June and July. The summer Wild Wednesday are held at 7:00 PM. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.

Throughout the months of June and July, the Tonaquint Nature Center hosts an interactive nature day camp for ages 4+ to 5th grade. Each day of camp is filled with new adventures, exciting experiments and opportunities to experience nature at its finest. Contact the St. George Recreation Center at (435) 627-4560 for upcoming camp dates, fees and registration deadlines.


Volunteer

The Tonquint Nature Center is operated by the City of St. George Leisure Services Department. The Nature Center relies on volunteers to host many of the programs. If you have a special area of interest or expertise and would like to to contribute your skills, please contact the Nature Center at (435) 627-4590 or the St. George Recreation Center at (435) 627-4560.

Attention School Teachers, Scoutmasters, Naturalists and Outdoor Educators
