Welcome to the St. George Police Department website. Whether you are a resident, visitor, or just passing through, I hope you enjoy our city.  St. George is located in the southwest corner of Utah.  The city is spread out over approximately 75 square miles. Residents and visitors enjoy over 300 sunny days per year. The desert climate, with an elevation of 2,760 feet, promotes year-round recreation and leisure activities.

The police department is made up of extraordinary individuals who are passionate about keeping this city safe and vibrant.  We believe this is achieved through our dedicated approach to community-oriented policing with a focus on problem solving, establishing lasting partnerships, professional interactions, and ethical practices. We recognize that St. George is an active community, rich in culture and diversity, and we work continually to support all who live in or visit our community.  We believe all people should be treated with respect and dignity.

We are committed to providing professional and innovative police services.  We strive to uphold the mission of the St George Police Department; preserve life, maintain human rights, protect property, and promote individual responsibility and community commitment.  We accomplish this by providing cutting-edge training to our officers in all policing techniques such as defensive tactics and firearms, ethical choices, de-escalation, mental health, and cultural sensitivity.

All of our efforts are guided by the values of the City of St. George; integrity, innovation and efficiency, professional and personable service, teamwork, and excellence.  We focus on building positive relationships that support and advance our thriving community.  Please reach out if we can be of assistance.
