St. George Fire Department provides Firefighter I & II, Hazardous Materials awareness and operations training to all staff as a minmum: This is part of a sixteen week recruit academy for all newly hired firefighters that must completed before starting suppression duties. These four levels of certification are Utah Firefighter I (225hrs) and Firefighter II (80hrs). Hazardous Materials Awareness (8hrs) and Operations (40hrs).
