In November 2005, the St. George City Council created the new Development Services Department. The department is a combination of former divisions within other departments that provided plan review, permitting, civil engineering approval and inspection services for private development.
The new organization is designed to be more responsive to customers and more effective and efficient in internal communications. The Development Services Department is structured such that a person wanting to build in the City of St. George can conduct business within one department. Our goal is to provide high quality customer service, while protecting the health, safety and welfare of the residents of St. George.
