2013 Featured Artist Scott Yelonek

Having had an early desire to express himself through his artistic abilities, Scott recalls spending many hours as a child drawing and creating works of art. This passion would eventually lead to the inspiring paintings that Scott creates today.

Born and raised in Utah, Scott earned his Associate of Science degree from the College of Eastern Utah in 1983. During his formal education Scott concentrated his efforts on the study of design, figure and basic drawing as well as the art of watercolor.

Taking a break from the area of fine arts, Scott began to develop his skills in layout and graphic design when he began his employment with Peczuh Printing in 1984. Scott has continued his efforts in this field and is currently employed as a Graphic Artist.

It wasn’t until the fall of 2002 when Scott’s daughter requested that he teach her how to draw and paint, that Scott’s interest in the fine arts and painting was reawakened. Since that time Scott has been unstoppable. He has participated in many shows and festivals during which he has received numerous awards and recognition from various professional art organizations as well as the public.

Scott and his family currently reside in beautiful Eastern Utah. He enjoys traveling and spends much of his free time taking photographs of his surroundings to be used in his future projects.
